Only 30 percent of newborn ICU mothers can supply enough milk for their premature infants. Mountain West Mothers' milk bank was founded 11 years ago in Utah to promote infant health and nutrition by screening, processing, and dispensing donor human milk to NICU infants. To mark the anniversary of September 11th, 3,000 American flags will be in front of Sandy City Hall from September 8-12th for the 17th Annual Utah Healing Field. Money raised will benefit Operation Underground Railroad and its efforts to rescue children enslaved by sex trafficking. In this episode, Utah Healing Field Chairman Shauna Jorgensen and Robert Hanks, O.U.R. Salt Lake volunteer team leader joins FM100.3 host Rebecca Cressman and discuss how collaborating to care for children who are feed from slavery gives another meaning to the name "Healing Field."
